I don’t say this lightly. Nothing beats the solo path. Being a solo entrepreneur doesn’t mean you do everything yourself. That may have been so for some in the past, but that time has long since passed.

I still remember a conversation I had with one of the old timers during the late 1990s. He owned a book publishing business here in Sarasota, FL. He told me that was getting ready to outsource the printing and bookbinding of his publications. He told me, “They can publish my books cheaper than I can myself, and I own my own printing equipment!”
His words turned out to be the wakeup call of my lifetime.
From that moment forward, my thinking about business forever changed. What I mean by that is, nothing is ever static. You must live in a state of perpetual awareness. Change is the only constant and ultimately, you must learn to adapt to the times you find yourself in or go out of business.

For me, the opportunity to do all the above over the past two decades has been a life-changing experience. Was it tough at times? Sure, it was tough at times, but it was most certainly worth it. I learned more from life’s challenges than I did from all my years of formal education.
