The 1,000 True-Fan Strategy

There is an interesting theory that’s been floating around the online business world since 2008. It’s the concept of building a full-time income with only 1,000 true fans of your product or work. If 1,000 true fans of yours are willing to invest $100 a year with you – you won’t need to “chase” the big numbers. Millions of followers are not needed.

The idea of having a solid, loyal following (that’s not in the tens of thousands), yet can provide you with a comfortable level of financial support, wasn’t new when Kevin Kelly wrote about it back in 2008.

There are very few people in the world with huge followings. That’s ok because you can still make a very good living, even if you don’t have tens of thousands of fans. If 1,000 true fans of your work are willing to invest $100 a year with you, it can change everything. More on this in today’s podcast.
