It seems like it was just yesterday. There I was… the average online freelancer trying to make a living and get new clients. The year was 1999. I was already a student of direct marketing for four or five years by that time and I was excited about the possibilities

So, I began sharing what I was learning with my web development clients – freely. Then it happened! Someone approached me and asked, “Can I pay you for an hour of your time to consult with me?”

By sharing the knowledge I had, I became something beyond just another “sub-contractor.” I gradually transformed into a trusted adviser. You can do the same by combining your “other knowledge” with your existing skillset.
